The typical facial appearance of an acromegalic patient shows coarsening of the features with enlargement of the supraorbital ridges, a broad nose and also thickening of the soft tissues (Fig. 3.6). Sweating is excessive, sebaceous activity increases, papillomas and seborrhoeic warts occur; acne and hirsutism may also be present in women.
